AddOns & Fringes
Drag-and-Drop Formulas
AddOns are one of the foundations of Splinde. They are representing financial logics like taxes, fees or markups and can be applied with via a single drag-and-drop.
Social charges, markups and overtime are where a bid is won or lost, and where a wrong percentage costs real money. In Splinde an uplift is an AddOn: something you attach to one Cost Item, which reads that item's own total, applies a rate, and adds the result on top.
There are two kinds, and everything in the AddOns list is a prepared version of one of them.
A percentage AddOn adds a percentage. You choose what the percentage applies to: the Cost Item's own line total, the result of another AddOn on the same line, or both. Cards such as Employer Contributions, P&E, Fringes and Markup are percentage AddOns that arrive
with a name and a default rate.An overtime AddOn charges the hours beyond a standard day. You set the brackets and their uplifts, and Splinde derives the hourly cost from the line itself.
Learn those two and any card on the list behaves predictably. The set of prepared cards is growing, so treat what you see as examples rather than a fixed catalogue.
Contributions and levies
Drag a prepared employer-contribution card onto one fee, set its rate in a Variable, then duplicate the line with Cmd+D. Every copy carries the AddOn.
An AddOn belongs to a single line, so it sits exactly on the fees you drag it onto. Configure the first one, then duplicate it to repeat the levy.
Configure fringes on one line, then duplicate it with Cmd+D or share one Variable, and two hundred lines carry the same AddOn and rate.
Edit the rate Variable once in the Variables tab and every linked AddOn follows, including Section subtotals and the Total. Re-link a line you typed with @.
Each AddOn on a line takes the same starting amount, so levies do not compound. Tick the other AddOn in its selection menu to put one on top of another.
Create a percentage Variable named after your levy, drag the Markup AddOn onto the lines, and link the rate with @. Splinde can add a card for your country.
Add one Cost Item outside the chapter, type @ in its Fee and pick the chapter, so one visible line carries a department-wide uplift.
Overtime
Yes. The Overtime AddOn turns a Cost Item's fee into an hourly rate, then charges each hour bracket beyond the standard day at the uplift you set.
Yes. Switch the Overtime AddOn from Simple to Individual, lay the day count out in blocks and say how many hours each block ran.
Split the position into two Cost Items: prep and wrap without Overtime, shoot days with it. Individual mode with fewer prep hours is the lighter option.
Model up to 18 hours in the Overtime AddOn, then price the penalty tier as its own Cost Item named for the clause, with the agreed hourly figure in Fee.
German levies: AGA and KSK
AGA is the German employer social contribution levy. Drag the Arbeitgeberanteile AddOn onto each employed position and it is calculated on that line.
KSK is the German artists' social fund levy. Drag the Künstlersozialkasse AddOn onto the fees it concerns, and it is calculated on each of those lines.
This is about the German AGA and KSK levies. Edit AGA National and KSK National once in the Variables tab and every linked AddOn follows.
