A DACH agency (Germany, Austria and Switzerland) expects your commercial cost estimate in the SCoPE structure, 14 defined sections whose labels and order it reads against. Open the SCoPE GWA KVA Budget Template from the Splinde Template Gallery and click Start using this Template: it opens Splinde with the SCoPE structure ready, so the estimate starts in the shape the agency expects.
SCoPE is the cost estimate format DACH agencies use for commercial production. A KVA (Kostenvoranschlag) is the German trade word for that cost estimate, which everywhere else in Splinde is called a budget, and the template carries the GWA KVA name the agencies know it by. The template page describes the 14-section structure, German fringes such as KSK (the German artists' social fund levy), overtime rules and multi-currency conversion.
Start from the template
Go to the Template Gallery and choose the SCoPE GWA KVA Budget Template, or open its page directly.
Click Start using this Template. Splinde opens with the template.
Enter your job's numbers. The structure is already in place.
Bring an existing SCoPE file in
If the numbers already live in a SCoPE workbook, Splinde reads it straight into a new budget.
On the All Projects page click New Budget, or Add Budget on a Project.
Choose Import Excel, described as
Upload a 'SCoPE' Excel file (Version 19 or 20) and continue your work.Fill Budget Name and pick a Project, then click Create Budget.
Drop the file on Upload Excel SCoPE KVA File, pick the import options, then click Start import, and finish with Open Budget ð.
Splinde reads Version 18 files as well. The workbook is an .xlsm whose sheets keep their names Voreinstellung and KV, as covered in I have a SCoPE KVA in Excel. How do I get it ready to import?.
Make the document read like a SCoPE offer
Drag Classic Budget from Insert into an Offer Document. It renders the whole live budget, section headings with totals and Cost Item lines, and it updates as the budget changes. Use Text Blocks for the cover information and the legal footer. The full walk-through is in Can I make the offer look like SCoPE?.
Good to know
The import brings every cost item across, down to the bad weather section. Set prep and wrap days in the budget once the file is in.
To keep your own adjusted version, open the menu in the budget header, choose Create Template and click Add to Template Gallery. It then sits under Workspace Templates on the Templates page for the next job.
Offer Documents export as PDF, the print-ready shape an agency expects to receive.
