Can I make the offer look like SCoPE?

Can I make the offer look like SCoPE?

The agency expects the offer in the shape SCoPE produces, so the document has to read that way when it reaches them. Start from the SCoPE GWA KVA Budget Template in the Splinde Template Gallery, then use the Classic Budget block for the document. The structure arrives with the template, so your time goes into the cover and the wording.

Start from the template

  1. Open the Template Gallery and choose the SCoPE GWA KVA Budget Template.

  2. Click Start using this Template. Splinde opens with the template.

  3. Enter your job's numbers, then open the Offer Document for the budget.

Shape the document

  1. Drag Classic Budget from Insert → Document, under Budget Blocks, onto the page if it is not already there. It renders the whole live budget, Section headings with totals and Cost Item lines, and follows the budget as it changes.

  2. For the cover, drag Headline 1 onto the page for the offer title, then Text blocks for the fields the agency expects: client, project title, offer version, agency, director, DoP, executive producer, format, shoot days, location.

  3. Drag Image to the top of the page for the letterhead.

  4. Give the cover its own page. Drag Page Break in below the last cover line, or open Document settings → Design, pick the H1 tab and turn on Add Page Break.

  5. Put the legal wording in the footer so it repeats. Double-click the footer band and type into its three columns. The header band works the same way and is the place for the client and the project title when they should appear on every page.

Keep it for the next job

Open the menu in the budget header and choose Create Template. The Offer Document attached to the budget travels with the template, so the next budget started from it opens with the cover, the tables and the footer already in place, and only the content changes.

Good to know

  • The project title in your cover text is text you typed, so it stays exactly as written even if the budget name changes later. The budget tables are the live part.

  • Terms and conditions read best as short paragraphs under Text.

  • Headings run from Headline 1 to Headline 4, and the page is A4 portrait, so a wide cost table is narrowed to fit the page.

  • For a client whose cost controller wants to see how each position was built, add a Cost Details block as well. See the related article below.
