I made a mistake in the budget. How do I undo it?

I made a mistake in the budget. How do I undo it?

Press ⌘ Cmd + Z on a Mac or Ctrl + Z on Windows, with your cursor outside a field. Splinde takes back your last change in the budget, and each further press takes back the one before, so you step back to exactly where you went wrong.

Undo and redo

  1. Click an empty part of the budget, or a row, so your cursor is outside a field.

  2. Press ⌘ Cmd + Z (Mac) or Ctrl + Z (Windows). Your newest change is reversed.

  3. Press it again to go one step further back.

  4. Went one step too far? Press ⌘ Cmd + Shift + Z (Mac), or Ctrl + Shift + Z or Ctrl + Y (Windows), to redo it.

A redo is there until you make a new change. From then on, your history continues from the new change.

What a step brings back

One action is one step, however many lines it touched:

  • a value you typed, such as Amount, Days or Fee;

  • the name or note of a Cost Item, and the name of a Section;

  • Cost Items and Sections you added, duplicated or pasted;

  • lines you moved, by dragging or from the bar at the bottom of the budget;

  • lines you deleted, one at a time or as a whole selection. A deleted Cost Item comes back in its place with its AddOns and Labels. A deleted Section comes back with everything inside it, and every line that pointed at it with @ shows the right figure again;

  • AddOn changes on a Cost Item: adding or removing an AddOn, changing its settings, and moving Overtime hour brackets.

Undo follows you across the budget: one history covers Main and every Scenario, so a press always reaches your newest change, whichever column it was in.

Working on a shared budget

Undo takes back your own changes and leaves your colleagues' work exactly as they made it. When a colleague has changed or deleted the same line after you, Splinde keeps their version, tells you who it was, and the next press moves on to your change before that.

Good to know

  • Inside a field, or in the Offer Document editor, the same keys undo your typing in that field. Click outside the field to step back through the budget.

  • Each time you open a budget, its history starts fresh with the changes you make from then on.

  • A whole budget you deleted is restored from Settings, Activity & undo: under Your recent changes, click Restore on its Budget deleted entry. The list holds the changes you made in the last 30 minutes.

  • Labels, Variables and the budget currency are set in their own panels. Each change there stays as you set it, so change it back in the same panel.
