The client wants the whole budget in another currency

Open the sidebar Info tab and pick the client's currency under Budget Currency. Splinde recalculates the whole budget in that currency, and the figures you typed stay exactly as you entered them.

Every subtotal and the grand total are then expressed in the currency your client reads.

Switch the currency

Open the sidebar Info tab. Budget Currency is the first row of the currency block.
Click it and search with Search for Currency Code or Name. The picker searches on code or name.
Click the client's currency.
Splinde shows Updating currency… with a running count while it recalculates, then Currency updated. Both are progress messages, and the count is your sign that the work is moving.

A new budget starts in Euro, so setting the currency first, before you build, keeps the whole budget in one currency from the first line.

What happens to your lines

A line with no currency of its own follows the budget currency. The number you typed stays as it is and is now read in the new currency. A line you entered as 5,000 in a euro budget reads 5,000 in a dollar budget. This is how you set up a budget in the currency you will price in.

A line with its own currency keeps its typed amount. If you set a line to ZAR and typed 80,000, it still reads 80,000 ZAR. Its contribution to the subtotals and the total is converted into the new budget currency at the rate in Conversion Currencies.

To show a budget priced in euros as dollars at today's rate, give the euro lines euro as their own currency with the currency badge on Fee, then switch Budget Currency to dollars. Splinde converts each of those lines for you. See Half this shoot is billed in another currency. Can I get one total?.

Good to know

Conversion Currencies sits directly under Budget Currency. A manual rate you stored holds whenever one of its two sides is the new budget currency, and other currencies use a live rate. Let Currency updated appear before you make the next change, so the totals reflect the latest choice.
On a large budget the recalculation takes a little longer, and the counter shows how far it has got.
Picking the currency that is already set leaves the budget as it is.
Currency is set per budget, so a workspace can hold budgets in different currencies side by side.
