The same employer contribution rates, agency commission and markups apply to every job, so the next budget has to start with them in place. Start the new budget from a Budget Template or from a duplicate of the old one, and your Variables arrive with the structure, at the values they held.
Carry them forward with a Budget Template
Build one budget the way your company works, with the Variables you always use.
Open the menu in the budget header and choose Create Template.
In Turn this Budget into a Template, fill in Template Name and click Add to Template Gallery*. The original budget stays as it is.
Next job, go to Templates in the sidebar, stay on Workspace Templates, hover the tile and click Use this template. Name the new budget in Create Budget from template.
Every budget started that way arrives with your Variables already set.
Or duplicate last year's budget
Open the menu in the budget header and choose Duplicate Budget. You get a separate budget with a copy of everything, Variables included, named after the original with (Copy) appended. That suits a repeat client or a second flight of the same campaign, where the structure carries over too. Delete what the new job does not need from the copy.
Good to know
Each budget keeps its own set of Variables, which is why a template or a duplicate is how a standard set travels. Edit the Variables in one budget and the others keep their own values.
Some Variables arrive on their own. Dropping a prepared AddOn card, such as an employer social-contribution AddOn, onto a Cost Item brings in the Variable that holds its rate. Drop the same card on another line and the budget reuses that Variable, so the whole budget stays on one rate. See How do I budget my country's employer contributions and levies? for the cards available.
A template is a snapshot. When a rate changes, update the Variable in the template so every future budget starts right, and edit the Variable in each budget that is already running.
