Printed offers get compared side by side on a client's desk, and every loose page has to say which bid it belongs to. The Offer Document has a header band above the body and a footer band below it, each split into three columns, and both repeat on every page of the PDF. Put the client and project title in the header and a page number in the footer, and any page that leaves the stack still names its bid.
Fill in a header or footer
Open the document pane. The two bands sit at the top and bottom of the page, dimmed until you use them.
Double-click the band you want. It brightens, a blue Document Header or Document Footer pill appears, and the three columns show as dashed outlines.
Click a column and type. The formatting bar at the top of the page now applies to that column, so Bold, Align right and the rest work as usual.
For the page number, drag Page Number from Insert → Document into a column. In the editor it reads Page 1 / 1. The real page and total, for example 3 / 8, are filled in when you click Download PDF.
For a logo, drag Image into a column.
Click anywhere outside the band to leave it. Clicking the formatting bar keeps the band open.
A typical split: client name on the left of the header, project title in the middle, offer version on the right, and the page number in the footer.
Good to know
One band is open at a time. Opening the header closes the footer.
The first time you open a completely empty footer, a page number is placed in its left column for you.
Columns take text, headings, images and page numbers. Budget tables and Page Break belong in the body of the document.
Text in a band is set at a compact size whatever heading level you apply, so the header stays discreet and the body keeps the page.
The same content prints on every page, the first one included. Write the header as something you want on the cover too.
The bands are exactly as wide as the body content, in the editor and in the PDF.
