I have six versions open and only want to look at two

To put two of six versions in front of someone, insert a Scenario Comparison block and choose the two you want. It prints exactly those two side by side with a Difference column. For your own screen, the sidebar's Sections and Variables tabs each show one version at a time.

The budget editor keeps every version live as its own column, with Main first and then each scenario in the order you created it, so any option is one click away when the client asks about it.

Show exactly two, in a document

Insert the block from the sidebar Insert tab, its Document sub-tab, under Budget Blocks. Select the block, open Settings, and choose the two sides under Compare Scenarios. This is where you decide which two versions appear together, and it works for any pair out of the set.

Look at one at a time, in the sidebar

The sidebar tabs follow one version instead of the whole row of columns.

  • The Sections tab switches to a compare view once a scenario exists, listing the difference per Section for the version you pick in its own dropdown.

  • The Variables tab has the same dropdown and shows one version's Variables at a time.

That gives you a single-version read of the chapter totals without scrolling the editor.

Shorten the row

When an option is finished, delete it with the trash icon in its column header and the row gets shorter. If a version is finished but you want to keep it, first use Duplicate Budget from the editor's burger menu. It copies Main and every scenario together into a new, independent budget, so the version survives there after you remove it from the original.

Good to know

  • A budget can carry as many scenarios as you need, and they do not count as extra budgets in the workspace.

  • Opening a scenario's own address loads the same side-by-side editor with that column active.

  • Rename each column in the client's words, such as "4 Days" and "5 Days", so the pickers read clearly.
